On the evening of May 26, Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Tuyen, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Chau Thanh District ( An Giang ) confirmed that the unit had received information about the death of NHB (20 months old, residing in Can Dang Commune, Chau Thanh District) while being sent to a private kindergarten in Vinh Hanh Commune.
MN daycare facility, where baby NHB died
Ms. NTT (NHB's mother) said that on the morning of May 25, she took her child to the kindergarten, and the child was normal. At 2:30 p.m. the same day, the teacher called to inform her that after the afternoon nap, baby B. was crying and then lying still, asking her to come and pick him up. Because she was busy, Ms. T. informed the teacher that she would ask the baby's grandfather to come and pick him up.
"About 10 minutes later, the teacher called me again, urging me to go to school immediately because baby B. was having difficulty breathing. I immediately asked the company for leave from work to rush to take the baby to the hospital. At about 3:15 p.m., I arrived at school and saw that the baby's hands and feet were purple. My husband and I immediately took the baby to Chau Thanh District Medical Center for emergency treatment. However, after about 40 minutes at the hospital, the doctors said my baby would not survive," said Ms. T.
After the incident, Chau Thanh District authorities came to examine the scene and perform an autopsy to clarify the cause.
The head of the Department of Education and Training of Chau Thanh District said: "Authorities are investigating and clarifying the cause of B's death. When there is official information, the press will be notified."
Ms. Tuyen said that the kindergarten is under the management of the People's Committee of Vinh Hanh Commune. The Department of Education and Training of Chau Thanh District is coordinating with relevant agencies to review and handle this kindergarten according to regulations.
