- Deep love for the homeland
- When color leads the way
As a member of the Hanoi Photography Association, with a passion for creation, Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Mai (born in 1963) owns a rich collection of art photos, contributing to beautifying the photographic picture of the capital. |
Back then, with a small travel camera, not knowing how to use it or adjust it, she just set it to automatic mode and took pictures naturally, and took so many pictures that she became addicted. She gradually accumulated experience, bought a new camera and learned from teachers and friends, and when she was encouraged to submit photos for the contest, she also... "dared". Right when participating in the first contest - the Hanoi Regional Art Photography Festival in 2020, she won the Encouragement Prize, with the work "Rhythm of life on the ancient bridge". In the following years, she had many more achievements, enough points to join the common roof of photographers in the capital.
Loving to take pictures of beautiful landscapes all over the country, she shared: " Photography helps me have a more delicate and emotional view of things, people, landscapes, and nature; love more the moments of morning light, sunrise, full moon, the rotations of the galaxy, of the stars... The most impressive and memorable for me was the night of shooting star trails in Ghenh Den (formerly Phu Yen province, now Dak Lak province). Watching the stars running in streaks of light spinning in front of the camera lens made me tremble with joy, forgetting about mosquito bites and the fear of the dark, as well as fatigue and sleepiness...".
Thanks to photography, she can feel the changes around her more clearly, updating attractive topics for her creative trips: “The rows of trees that were bare a few days ago, now have young green leaves sprouting; the Barringtonia acutangula trees by the lake have young red leaves that make photographers "crazy", racing to take pictures... There is a flower season where when the clusters of flowers bloom bright red and pink, our hearts are excited, we just want to pack our backpacks and cameras and hit the road right away...”.
More happily, she also inspires and shares her passion for photography with her partner, so that they can share and accompany each other on trips and on every road in the journey to capture the beauty of their homeland and country.
In daily life, she spends time cooking with her family, traveling, happily enjoying her retirement, maintaining positive energy, wishing all the best and peace to her loved ones.
