The working delegation of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies was led by Mr. Duong Quyet Thang, Member of the Board of Directors, General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.
According to the leader of the Social Policy Bank, Tra Vinh branch, by July 31, 2024, the total capital reached 4,586 billion VND, the total outstanding debt reached 4,574 billion VND, with 129,215 customers with outstanding debt; average outstanding debt of 35.4 million VND/borrower; with 106 transaction points in communes, wards and towns.
Over the past 21 years, the Tra Vinh branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies has disbursed VND 13,035 billion, with 935,000 poor households and other policy beneficiaries receiving loans. Policy credit capital has supported nearly 111,000 households to overcome the poverty line, creating jobs for nearly 111,000 workers; more than 4,700 people working abroad for a limited period; supported nearly 35,400 students to borrow money to study, built more than 191,000 clean water and rural environmental sanitation works, built 38,000 houses for the poor and other policy beneficiaries, supported capital to buy/hire-purchase, build new/renovate 145 social houses.

With the achieved results, General Director of Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Duong Quyet Thang acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the provincial Bank for Social Policies, affirming the importance of social policy credit capital for the implementation of socio -economic development programs of the province, especially the sustainable poverty reduction and new rural construction programs.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and provincial mass organizations for their attention and support for the development of the VBSP Tra Vinh branch. In particular, the tasks of capital disbursement and effective use of loans have been completed, achieving and exceeding the targets assigned by the Government and the Prime Minister , including the target of sustainable poverty reduction.
Comrade Duong Quyet Thang emphasized that in the coming time, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will continue to support, facilitate, and supplement capital sources for the Tra Vinh branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies to implement social policy credit programs, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, especially in rural areas and areas with a large Khmer population.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies Trade Union presented a symbolic plaque of 1 billion VND to Tra Vinh province to carry out social security work.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ngo Chi Cuong, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, thanked Comrade Duong Quyet Thang, General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies, for his attention, support, and facilitation in helping Tra Vinh achieve many important results in socio-economic development.
The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will continue to pay attention to and support Tra Vinh, especially in terms of capital, so that Tra Vinh can implement policy credit programs, contributing to the completion of the task of building new rural areas before 2025.
On this occasion, Vietnam Bank for Social Policies donated 1 billion VND to Tra Vinh province to support poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households with housing difficulties in the province.
