Lao Cai: Newly established enterprises increased by 15%, registered capital reached nearly 6,865 billion VND

By the end of August 2025, Lao Cai province had 840 newly registered enterprises and 480 branches, an increase of 15% over the same period last year, with a total registered capital of VND 6,864.8 billion.

In recent times, business activities in the province have benefited from support policies, creating motivation for increasing the number of newly established enterprises as well as encouraging enterprises to return to operation after a period of suspension.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, in August alone, the province granted new registration certificates to 195 enterprises and 64 branches, an increase of 15.5% over the same period, with a total registered capital of over VND1,070 billion. The newly registered enterprises mainly operate in the fields of agriculture , trade, services, tourism and construction.

In August, 59 enterprises temporarily suspended operations (down 3.8% year-on-year) and 34 enterprises dissolved (up 25% year-on-year). Notably, 56 enterprises resumed operations, up 15% year-on-year.

In the first 8 months of 2025, the province granted new registration certificates to 840 enterprises and 480 branches, an increase of 15% over the same period, with a total registered capital of VND 6,864.8 billion.

However, the number of enterprises registering to temporarily suspend operations was 1,054 (up 27% over the same period) and 197 enterprises dissolved (up 35.5% over the same period). In addition, 269 enterprises resumed operations, up 5.4% over the same period.
