Restore order to the traffic safety corridor along National Highway 27

National Highway 27, the section passing through Ea Ktur commune, is about 10 km long and is a vital route that plays an important role in the socio -economic development of the locality. On this route, there are 3 traditional markets, including Kram wholesale market, Trung Hoa market and 19/8 market. In these markets, goods and vehicles are displayed on the road and sidewalks, making it difficult for vehicles to move, especially during rush hours.

In recent days, traffic safety corridor clearance teams at markets along National Highway 27 established by the People's Committee of Ea Ktur commune have actively propagated and mobilized traders and people to comply with trading in permitted areas.

Mr. Ho Viet Hung, Deputy Head of the Economic Department of Ea Ktur Commune, Head of the Traffic Accident Clearance Team at Trung Hoa Market area, said that each member of the team went directly to each stall and each business household to explain and persuade. Thanks to this method, many small traders and people voluntarily moved their goods and returned the common space.

The traffic safety corridor clearance team in the Kram wholesale market area propagates to people and traders to comply with regulations on traffic safety corridors.

Ms. Do Thi Huyen, a vendor at Kram wholesale market, confided: “In the past, I always thought that sitting close to the road would help me reach customers faster. But then I saw traffic accidents related to roadside markets, so I started to rethink and proactively moved inside to ensure the safety of myself and those around me.”

Similarly, at Trung Hoa market, after being informed by the local authorities, many businesses also complied with displaying their goods in the right places. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, a fruit vendor at this market, confided: “We are used to displaying our goods outside for easier selling. After being explained, we understood that doing business in the right places is not only safer but also helps businesses feel secure in doing business in the long term.”

In order for the clearance of violations to not be a "beat the drum and leave the drum" campaign but a regular and continuous task, the People's Committee of Ea Ktur commune has established 3 traffic safety clearance teams at the markets along National Highway 27. Accordingly, each team has 6-10 members, the team leader is a leader, an officer of the economic department, the team members are the grassroots security and order team, village and hamlet chiefs. The members of the teams will take turns on duty, the authorities will conduct surprise inspections, remind and strictly handle cases of intentional violations.

National Highway 27 through Trung Hoa market area is clear after the first days of campaigning to clear violations of traffic safety corridor.

Chairman of Ea Ktur Commune People's Committee Y Ngon Nie emphasized that identifying the work of clearing violations and preventing re-encroachment and managing traffic safety corridors as key and regular tasks, the locality will mobilize mass organizations, forces, and means to focus on clearing violations and preventing re-encroachment of traffic safety corridors.

The implementation process must be carried out synchronously and uniformly, focusing on ensuring the legitimate rights of the people; not allowing mistakes to occur and complicated incidents related to security and order to arise. Any acts of intervention or obstruction in the process of clearing encroachment or re-encroachment of traffic safety corridors will be strictly handled according to regulations.
