(Haiphong.gov.vn) - According to the general planning of Hai Phong city until 2040, with a vision to 2050, recently approved by the Prime Minister, the area on the southern bank of the Cam River (from Mom Thuy Doi to Nguyen Trai Bridge, Ngo Quyen District), formerly Hoang Dieu Port, with an area of nearly 64 hectares, will be developed into a riverside park combined with a sports center, Hai Phong Port Museum and other public works.

This land area stretches from the City Convention Center to Nguyen Trai Bridge, in Ngo Quyen District, and is being planned to improve the quality of life, improve the environmental landscape, and be in line with the orientation of sustainable urban development.

Two banks of Cam River.

According to Decision 323/QD-TTg dated March 30, 2023, the area is identified as public land - urban services, urban green trees combined with sports centers. The 1/2000 scale zoning plan of Ngo Quyen district until 2040, approved by the City People's Committee in Decision 1199/QD-UBND dated April 16, also clearly states the land use functions in the Hoang Dieu Port area including public green land, mixed land, services, culture and parking lots.

Specifically, in the detailed planning, this area will be renovated into a park along the Cam River with public works, Hai Phong Port Museum, parking lots and a railway line for sightseeing along the river, while creating a creative startup space. Some historical elements such as the Port Workers Monument and Warehouse 6 will be kept intact or restored to preserve their cultural and historical values. The remaining land will be used to build cultural and sports facilities, public entertainment areas and meeting facilities.

Meanwhile, the North bank of the Cam River is oriented to develop into a modern new urban area, creating the image of a dynamic metropolis, symbolizing the development of the new era. The combination of the ancient urban area on the South bank with the heritage, cultural, traditional values and the modern new urban area on the North bank creates a unique blend, both developing and preserving the unique identity of Hai Phong - a historic, dynamic and traditional port city.

To ensure feasibility and compliance with regulations, the People's Committee of Ngo Quyen District is collecting opinions from relevant agencies, organizations, individuals and communities on the 1/500 scale detailed planning project to implement the above projects. The time for collecting opinions is from April 24 to May 23, 2025./.
