The hybrid SUV developed on the TNGA platform of the Yaris Cross, positioned below the Lexus UX, was launched in Italy on June 5.

The Japanese luxury car brand released photos revealing a new model. According to the media, the car was initially called BX, later changed to LBX. The letter "X" in the car's name suggests a high-chassis model, similar to the naming of the upcoming UX , NX , RX , GX or TX . While the letter B represents the segment position. Thus, this will be the smallest crossover of the Japanese luxury car company.

LBX is developed based on the GA-B platform of Toyota's new global architecture (TNGA), similar to the Toyota Yaris Cross in the European market.

From the images, it can be seen that the LBX has sharp headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, a grille inherited from its elder brother RX with a characteristic spindle shape, black cladding for the wheel arches, while the bonnet has muscular and short embossed lines.

In addition, the rear light image shows full-width LED taillights. The LBX will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain, similar to its sibling Yaris Cross, combined with 4-wheel drive, including a 3-cylinder, 1.5-liter gasoline engine, with an electric motor. In addition, customers have the option of front-wheel drive, non-hybrid with a 1.5 gasoline engine, combined with a manual or CVT transmission.
