
The 2026 Asian Futsal Championship Finals brings together 16 excellent teams, including 8 group winners and 7 best second-placed teams from the qualifying round, along with host Indonesia, who will be given a special entry.
Based on the world futsal rankings announced by the International Football Federation (FIFA) on August 29, 2025, 16 teams were divided into 4 seed groups for the draw. The Vietnamese futsal team (ranked 26th in the world) was placed in seed group number 2, along with Uzbekistan (19), Afghanistan (33) and Iraq (41).
Seed groups are specifically as follows:
Group 1: Indonesia (23, host), Iran (5), Thailand (11), Japan (13)
Group 2: Uzbekistan (19), Vietnam (26), Afghanistan (33), Iraq (41)
Group 3: Kuwait (43), Tajikistan (46), Saudi Arabia (48), Kyrgyzstan (49)
Group 4: Australia (53), Lebanon (54), South Korea (73), Malaysia (81)
According to the competition format, 16 teams will be divided into four groups, playing a round robin to calculate ranking points. The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarter-finals. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played in a knockout format to determine the 2026 Asian futsal champion.

The best achievement of the Vietnamese futsal team in the continental arena was reaching the semi-finals in 2016, thereby qualifying for the FIFA Futsal World Cup for the first time in history.
With impressive performance in the recent qualifying round, coach Diego Giustozzi and his team continue to receive great expectations from fans in their upcoming journey to conquer the Asian arena.
The draw will take place at the MNC Conference Hall, starting at 2pm (Vietnam time). Fans can watch live on official media platforms such as the AFC Youtube channel.
