The event marks an important milestone in the journey of preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Mong people.
Na Hau Commune is located in the core zone of Na Hau Nature Reserve, possessing more than 4,500 hectares of special-use natural forest. Despite the difficult life, the Mong people here always consider the forest as a shelter, a spiritual support and strictly follow the village covenants and regulations on forest protection that have existed for generations.
Every year, on the last day of the first lunar month, the Mong Na Hau people gather in the sacred forest to celebrate the Forest Worship Ceremony and celebrate the Forest New Year.
This ritual has a profound meaning in honoring the forest, praying for favorable weather, bountiful crops and reminding the younger generation of their responsibility to protect the forest .

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Van Yen District Hoang Viet Hoa emphasized that the recognition of the Forest Worshiping Ceremony as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage is a great honor for the Mong Na Hau people, and at the same time, it is the responsibility of the entire government system and people in preserving and promoting the value of the heritage .
Van Yen district is committed to maintaining the traditional values of the Forest Worship Ceremony, enhancing research and documentation of all rituals, prayers, offerings and sacred spaces.

In addition, support artisans and village elders to teach cultural values to the younger generation, combine heritageeducation in schools and develop eco-tourism and community tourism.
The whole district of Van Yen has 12 ethnic groups living, of which Mong people account for 4.89%, Na Hau commune alone has 99% Mong people living. Van Yen has great potential for developing agriculture , industry, tourism and is proud to be the land that preserves intangible cultural values of ethnic groups such as: Cap sac ceremony of the Red Dao people, Long Tong festival of the Tay people, Tet forest festival. In which, Dong Cuong temple festival and Forest worshiping ceremony are recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as National Intangible Cultural Heritage.

After the certificate awarding ceremony, locals and tourists enjoyed the art program "Echoes of the Forest Tet - Brightening Na Hau" and a sparkling fireworks display in the middle of the forest.
