Traditional festival to honor Hai Ba Trung

On March 15, at the special national relic of Hai Ba Trung temple, pagoda and communal house ( Hanoi ), a ceremony was held to commemorate the 1984th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising (40-2024).

The traditional festival commemorating the Hai Ba Trung uprising is an important event organized annually by the government and people of Hai Ba Trung district - Hanoi city, to pay tribute to and commemorate the two outstanding female heroes of the nation Trung Trac - Trung Nhi and the talented generals and loyal soldiers of the Hai Ba.

The Trung Sisters’ Uprising was the first uprising in Vietnamese history led by women, defiantly rejecting the Northern power. The victory of this historic uprising also marked the first milestone, affirming the great role of Vietnamese women in the history of the struggle for national liberation, bringing glory and fame to the country.

In memory of the Trung Sisters and the famous generals and martyrs, throughout the country, there are relics associated with the historical uprising, with annual commemorative festivals held, contributing to preserving the tradition of remembering the source of water, andeducating history for generations.

Among them, the complex of Hai Ba Trung temples, pagodas and communal houses is a rare and unique relic complex in the center. The temple currently preserves many valuable relics, including 27 royal decrees, 8 worship statues, 2 ancient stone steles recording the history of Hai Ba Trung, and 2 palanquins from the Nguyen Dynasty.

With its historical significance and value, in 2019, the Hai Ba Trung Temple, Pagoda and Communal House Relic was honored to be ranked as a special national relic by the Prime Minister .

Along with the national relic of Hai Ba Trung Temple in Bach Dang Ward, the special national historical relic of Hai Ba Trung Temple, Pagoda and Communal House in Dong Nhan Ward is a regular tourist attraction.

Not only preserving unique architectural and artistic values, the relic cluster also has rich cultural values ​​such as the Hai Ba Trung festival - a special festival held in 3 localities in Hanoi, demonstrating the close connection of the community, respecting the Two Trung Sisters.

This year's main festival takes place on March 15 (February 6 of the lunar calendar) and includes activities such as: Incense offering ceremony; water supply ceremony on the Red River according to traditional beliefs.

At the festival, delegates, locals and tourists enjoyed special traditional art performances such as lion dance, dragon dance, festival drums... and especially the epic performance recreating the heroic atmosphere of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

Along with that are exciting cultural, artistic and sports activities: Traditional martial arts performances, folk games, calligraphy, clay figurine making; 100 district youth union members participate in balancing games and sack jumping...
