The new generation Lexus GX has just been upgraded: More equipment, increased price

(Dan Tri) - The most notable upgrade on the 2025 GX model is the enhanced off-road capability for the Overtrail and Overtrail+ versions.

Lexus introduced the new-generation GX just two years ago, starting with the 2024 model year, but it has received some minor upgrades for the 2025 model year. The luxury SUV now comes standard with Lexus’s memory system and a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The memory system controls the driver’s seat, door mirrors, and steering column positions.

On the off-road-focused Overtrail and Overtrail+ models, Lexus has added a 1-inch (25mm) lift system, increasing the vehicle's ground clearance to 249mm. This gives the vehicle a 26-degree front departure angle, a 22-degree rear departure angle, and a 24-degree ramp-over angle.

These versions are also equipped with built-in air compressors and auxiliary switches to provide maximum support for users on off-road trips.

In the US market, the 2025 GX has a starting price of $65,285 (including domestic shipping costs), an increase of $1,035 compared to the 2024 version.

The Overtrail version increased in price by $3,680, from $69,250 (about 1.759 billion VND) to $72,930 (about 1.853 billion VND), while the Overtrail+ version increased by $3,145 from $77,250 (1.962 billion VND) to $80,395 (2 billion VND).

The GX Luxury and GX Luxury+ versions also increased in price, but not much, only $500 compared to before.

All 2025 GXs are still equipped with a 3.4L V6 engine, producing 349 horsepower and 649Nm of torque. This engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a full-time AWD system with a limited-slip center differential. With this configuration, the 2025 GX can accelerate from 0-96km/h in 6.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 175km/h.

Lexus is rumored to add a hybrid version using Toyota's 2.4L turbocharged I-Force Max I4 engine, with 326 horsepower, but probably not in the near future.

Inside, standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment display, a 10-speaker audio system, and a sunroof. Heated and ventilated front seats are upholstered in NuLuxe leather.

Higher trim levels get semi-aniline leather seats with massage function, power-folding third-row seats, heated leather-wrapped steering wheel and a 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system.

The 2025 Lexus GX is expected to begin arriving at US dealerships in early 2025, followed by other markets.
