Lexus NX 2026 price increase, starting from 45,470 USD

Lexus has just announced the 2026 NX product line in the US market with a notable change: the NX 250 version is officially discontinued, accompanied by a higher starting price.

Moving into the 2026 model year, the cheapest NX will be the NX 350h FWD, starting at $45,470. This is also an important change as the 350h, which previously came with all-wheel drive by default, now has the option of front-wheel drive.

Lexus also expanded the F Sport Handling package to all engine configurations, instead of just limiting it to a few versions as before.

Additionally, the NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid also gets a Premium grade option. This means that the NX 350h FWD – which is the base model – can still be upgraded to Premium, Luxury or F Sport Handling depending on customer needs.

The NX 350h FWD starts at $45,470. One step up is the NX 350, which uses a 2.4L turbocharged pure gasoline engine, standard all-wheel drive, starting at $46,120. Meanwhile, the plug-in hybrid NX 450h+ starts at $59,105.

Obviously, this price is quite high for a small luxury crossover. However, the NX 450h+ is equipped with more advanced technology and features than the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid – its “cousin” in the Toyota group.

In terms of operation, the NX 450h+ uses a 2.5L naturally aspirated I4 engine combined with a hybrid transaxle and an 18.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. The car has a total capacity of 304 horsepower, a maximum pure electric range of 37 miles (60 km), and accelerates from 0-97 km/h in 6 seconds. The battery can be charged from 0-100% in about 3 hours with a 7 kW charger at a 240V power source.

Meanwhile, the NX 350h has a total output of 240 horsepower, accelerating from 0-97 km/h in 7.2 seconds with AWD and 8.2 seconds with FWD. Fuel consumption is 5.8-6.0 l/100 km. The engine uses a 2.5L Atkinson cycle with D4-S dual fuel injection technology.

The NX 350 is equipped with a 2.4L I4 turbocharged engine, 275 horsepower, 373 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission (different from the eCVT on the hybrid and plug-in versions). The car accelerates from 0-97 km/h in 6.6 seconds, fuel consumption 9.8 l/100 km.

In the first six months of 2025, Lexus sold 38,253 NXs in the US, of which 15,450 were hybrids and 4,230 were plug-in hybrids. These numbers show that the proportion of users choosing to buy electrified variants is increasing.
