Hanoi Six high schools specialize in organizing 10th grade exams from June 1 to 10, two schools have the same exam date.
Hanoi has two specialized high schools, under the Department of Education and Training: Hanoi - Amsterdam Specialized High School and Nguyen Hue Specialized High School . These two schools conduct admissions according to the city's overall plan.
Candidates will take the exam over three days, with the common subjects (Mathematics, Literature, and English) on June 8th and 9th, and the specialized subject exam on June 10th. Except for Chemistry and the foreign language exams, which are 120 minutes long, the remaining specialized subjects have a 150-minute time limit.
The admission score is the sum of the four exam scores, the specialized subject multiplied by a factor of two. Candidates can register for a maximum of two specialized subjects, as long as they do not overlap. The specific exam times are as follows:
Besides the two specialized high schools under the Department of Education, the city also has four specialized high schools affiliated with Hanoi Pedagogical University and Vietnam National University, Hanoi. These schools recruit 10th graders through their own entrance exams, without any restrictions on the candidates' place of residence.
The Foreign Language Specialized High School, University of Foreign Languages, Hanoi National University, will take the earliest exam. On the morning of June 1, candidates will take three exams including Foreign Language, Math and Natural Sciences , Literature and Social Sciences.
For the Foreign Language subject, candidates can choose one of the following: English, French, Chinese, German, Japanese, or Korean. Except for English, which can be used to apply to all seven specialized classes, the remaining foreign languages are only used for the corresponding specialized class.
The remaining two subjects are tested for 55 minutes each. Literature includes both essay and multiple-choice sections, while Mathematics is entirely multiple-choice.
The admission score is the sum of the three test scores on a 10-point scale, with the Foreign Language score multiplied by two. The school will consider from high to low until the quota is full, from the specialized system with scholarships to the specialized system.

Candidates will take the exam for the subject they registered for (Literature, History, Geography). The exam score is calculated on a 10-point scale and rounded to two decimal places.
The exam schedule for the specialized high school for Natural Sciences is longer. All candidates will take two common subjects, Mathematics and Literature (120 minutes each), on the morning and afternoon of June 2nd, followed by the specialized subject exam (150 minutes) on June 3rd. Candidates must take the subject corresponding to the specialized class they registered for (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology), except for the Computer Science class which will take Mathematics.
To be considered for admission, candidates must take all subjects and achieve a score of 4 or higher. The admission score is the sum of the general Math score and the specialized subject score multiplied by a factor of two, without adding priority points.
