Mr. Duong Ngoc Tinh - Head of the Central Central Geological Federation affirmed that this is a golden milestone recognizing the mettle and will of many generations of geologists - those who have crossed forests, streams, stuck to the area, persevered on every inch of land, and laid the first bricks for the foundation of regional mineral geological documents.
Discovery of many mineral areas of strategic significance
According to Federation Director Duong Ngoc Tinh, over the past 50 years, the Federation has carried out more than 250 basic geological and mineral survey projects, contributing to the discovery and evaluation of many important mineral areas of strategic significance to the country.
Typical results include: Identifying more than 557 million tons of titanium-zircon in the red sand layer of Ninh Thuan - Binh Thuan - Northern Ba Ria - Vung Tau, making Vietnam one of the countries with large reserves of this mineral; evaluating the rare metal Lithium in the La Vi - Ba To area (formerly Quang Ngai), the first lithium mine to be systematically investigated and evaluated in our country; identifying 71 bauxite ore areas with a total resource of 9.2 billion tons of raw ore, laying the foundation for the development of the bauxite - aluminum - aluminum industry.
The Federation also identified large prospective areas for copper (154,000 tons of metal), gold (over 10 tons) and quartz, fluorite, quartzite, graphite, and diatomite with a scale of tens of millions of tons.

Regarding rare earths, the Federation has initially discovered areas with an area of hundreds of square kilometers that meet industrial standards. This is an important step forward in the strategy of investigating, managing, exploiting and sustainably developing Vietnam's rare earth resources, especially in the context of increasing global demand for this mineral.
In parallel with basic geological work, the Federation's investigation and exploration service activities have also developed strongly, ensuring stable revenue of 20-50 billion VND/year, improving equipment capacity and income for workers.
Appreciating those contributions, Mr. Le Quoc Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam emphasized: "Generations of Federation staff have been united, creative, overcome difficulties to excellently complete all tasks, actively contributing to the development of the geology sector and the country's socio-economy".

The Deputy Director affirmed that achievements such as investigation of titanium-zircon and bauxite minerals, assessment of strategic rare earth minerals and mineral exploration services are proof of the Federation's professional capacity and mettle.
Preserving traditional values, continuing to innovate
Mr. Tran Van Thinh - former Head of the Central Central Geological Federation, emotionally looked back at "50 years of intelligence, enthusiasm and solidarity". He emphasized that the difficult early days had created the mettle of the Central Central geological team - those who lived their lives for the profession, overcoming hardships to build a solid foundation of geological documents.
He placed his trust in today's young cadres, the force that continues to inherit the spirit of " Science - Responsibility - Sustainability", and at the same time expected the Federation to maintain solidarity and continue to innovate and apply technology to achieve new steps in the integration period.

Mr. Le Quoc Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Agriculture and Environment to individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Central Central Geological Federation. Focus on digital transformation and strategic minerals
Entering the new phase, the Federation aims for comprehensive innovation and focuses on key tasks. Deputy Director Le Quoc Hung requested the Federation to perform well the tasks assigned by the State and place orders to achieve progress with the highest quality; closely coordinate with other units to effectively implement Government projects and projects with large investment capital.
At the same time, develop high-quality human resources, build a team of highly specialized technical managers and skilled workers; improve equipment and technology capacity to meet the requirements of implementing projects to investigate strategic minerals, deep-seated minerals, marine minerals and essential minerals for local and regional economic development.
