Two consecutive fishing boat sinkings, 3 crew members missing

On January 27, information from the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard said that it had issued a notice, connected with many fishing boats operating at sea and the Navy Region 3 Command and Coast Guard Region 2 Command to support the search for the 3 missing crew members.

Previously, at 8:15 a.m. on January 26, Mr. Dao Xuan Dung (44 years old, Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh), owner of the logistics service ship number TH - 90208 TS, reported to the local authorities that this fishing boat, captained by Mr. Pham Ngoc Lam (50 years old, Dong Duong village, Bao Ninh commune), had sunk and lost contact.

The above fishing boat departed from Nhat Le port on January 22. There were 3 other crew members on board: Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung (50 years old), Mr. Nguyen Xuan Huong (50 years old, both residing in Quang Trach district, Quang Binh) and Mr. Dao Van Thuan (55 years old, Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city).

Upon receiving the news, Nhat Le Border Guard Station organized a search of fishing boats near the incident area and mobilized forces to search. This unit contacted fishing boat TTH - 92345 TS captained by Mr. Tran Van Thanh (Thua Thien - Hue ), rescued Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung and Nguyen Xuan Huong, the remaining 2 crew members on fishing boat TH - 90208 are still being searched.

On the same day, January 26, Nhat Le Border Guard Station received a report that fishing boat QB - 91205 TS, captained by Mr. Dao Xuan Nhat (27 years old, Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city) and 6 other crew members, sank in an area about 13 nautical miles from Cua Viet estuary ( Quang Tri ).

The authorities were able to connect with the fishing boat QB - 91889 TS and promptly rescued 6 people in distress. However, crew member Dao Van Ba (25 years old, Bao Ninh commune, Dong Hoi city) is missing and is being searched for by the fishing boat.
