Talking to reporters on the afternoon of July 26, Mr. Ta Huu Hung - Director of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant said that the water level in the reservoir is continuously decreasing day by day. Today it has reached 1,100m3 /s, the lowest since the flood.
In response to this development, the plant has reduced the discharge flow to 1,000 m³/s through 6 gates, roughly equivalent to the amount of water flowing into the lake. Currently, the water level in the lake is at an elevation of 200m.

Mr. Hung said that the operation is carried out in accordance with the inter-reservoir operation process. Out of 35 stations along the basin, only 1-2 stations have recorded rain, the weather is stable, the entire system is under control. It is expected that if the water flow to the reservoir continues to decrease in the coming days, the plant will continue to adjust the discharge level accordingly.
Ban Ve Hydropower Plant continues to closely monitor weather and hydrological conditions for appropriate operations, ensuring dual goals: project safety and people's safety.
In fact, in communes such as Tuong Duong and Con Cuong - which have been directly affected by the floods in recent days, the water level in rivers, streams, and residential areas has gradually receded since the afternoon of July 23. The authorities and people are focusing on overcoming the consequences of the floods, repairing houses, and restoring production.

Previously, at 9:00 p.m. on July 22, Ban Ve Hydropower Plant recorded a peak water flow into the lake of nearly 9,543 m³/s - approximately the flood safety test threshold of 10,500 m³/s, equivalent to an extreme flood frequency of 0.02%. This is the largest water flow into the lake ever recorded.
