HOBBIES FOR HIGH ECONOMY

Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Bonsai in Tien Giang Province, Pham Van Chinh, added: “Go Cong ancient bonsai is not free and unrestrained, but follows the principles of a meticulous, well-arranged and harmonious overall structure. The shaping of a bonsai tree always carries a profound philosophical meaning, for example, the ancient bonsai set: “Nu tam cang”, “ngu thuong”, “tam tong”, “tu duc”…

The Provincial Ornamental Plants Association in coordination with the People's Committee of Go Cong Tay district has just organized the opening ceremony of the ancient ornamental plant competition and display of bonsai Mai nu chieu thuy Go Cong Nhan, which has been recognized as a trademark for 3 years.

In particular, the ancient bonsai is considered to be standard when the overall shape and position of the tree must lie entirely within an isosceles triangle, representing the neatness and stability of the family; the trunk and roots are large, the top is small, implying a strong, exemplary pillar of the family...; at the same time, the person who makes these bonsai not only demonstrates self-cultivation and self-improvement, but also teaches and reminds bonsai connoisseurs to live according to the moral teachings of the sages.

Indeed, to have the desired mai nu roots, the grower must spend 3 - 5 years growing the raw material tree. When the mai nu tree roots reach the desired size, the grower puts the tree in a pot, then adjusts and shapes the tree. During the shaping and shaping process, the grower periodically bends the trunk to create shapes such as: "Super wind half moon", "fallen leaves return to the root", "no woman does not become mai" or "three bonds, five constants"... Sophisticated bonsai players are willing to pay a very high price for mai nu roots that have been grown for many years, are specially shaped and carry many philosophical meanings. A pair of bonsai mai chieu thuy nu costs from several million to several hundred million VND.

It is the lumps on the tree trunk that increase the value of the Go Cong mai chieu thuy nu tree.

Many people who grow mai chieu thuy nu say that growing mai nu not only creates fun but also helps develop the economy. Thanks to mai nu trees, many families have built spacious houses and raised their children to be successful. After nearly 50 years of growing mai nu, Mr. Huynh Van Nghia, Thanh Nhut commune, Go Cong Tay district, has more than 1,000 mai chieu thuy nu bonsai trees worth billions of dong. Mr. Nghia said: At first, I grew mai nu because I was passionate about it, but later, I saw that the value of mai nu trees was economically effective, so I planted more to sell, increasing my family's income.

Mr. Pham Van Ba, Loi An hamlet, Binh Tan commune, Go Cong Dong district said: Mai chieu thuy nu has flowers that project to the ground, on the trunk there are many bumps that look like a monkey's face, so it is also called nu mat monkey. Growing mai nu is quite elaborate, from the raw material to shaping and shaping the tree. However, to shape and form the mai nu tree into an artistic product, the grower must have a profession. The value of the mai nu tree is that it has many bumps, over time forming a row of bumps, and the skin has a characteristic gray color.

To satisfy their passion as well as the needs of the market, today's artisans also create and shape suitable tree shapes. Specifically, today, in addition to medium, small and mini bonsai from mai nu, artisans have created ancient bonsai works following the example of Uncle Ho to educate themselves and future generations. Instead of "three bonds, five constants", "three obediences", "four virtues", the artisans shape the pair of mai nu bonsai trees with 8 floors (4 floors on each side), on top is a 5-pointed star and names each 4 floors respectively: Diligence, thrift, integrity, righteousness; impartiality; on top is the shape of a star or the national flag, the Party flag.
