Mainoo caused a surprise.

Kobbie Mainoo has no intention of leaving MU and is determined to revive his career at Old Trafford, despite a difficult period under manager Ruben Amorim.

Mainoo is ready to stay and fight for a starting spot.

The 20-year-old midfielder has missed the last three games due to a calf injury and has yet to start a Premier League match this season. According to sources close to the club, the relationship between Mainoo and the coaching staff has not been smooth in recent months.

Tensions flared when Mainoo's half-brother appeared in the Old Trafford stands wearing a shirt that read "Free Kobbie Mainoo" during the 4-4 draw with Bournemouth in early December.

However, sources close to Mainoo insist the Carrington academy graduate has no intention of giving up. He still believes he can turn things around and regain his place in the Manchester United first team. Statistics show Mainoo has started 16 out of 61 games under Amorim, and his last appearance in the starting lineup was in the heavy defeat against Grimsby in the League Cup in August.

Last summer, MU rejected Mainoo's loan offer. His current injury, along with Bruno Fernandes also being sidelined with a hamstring strain, means the possibility of Mainoo leaving Old Trafford mid-season is almost non-existent.

Mainoo's contract runs until 2027, with an option to extend for another year. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Mainoo has chosen to stay and fight, believing that patience and hard work will help him reclaim his rightful place at the "Theatre of Dreams".
