Enjoy the opening night of the Hokkaido Ha Long Festival 2023

On the evening of November 17, the opening ceremony of the Hokkaido Ha Long Festival 2023 officially took place at October 30 Square (Ha Long City, Quang Ninh ).

The opening ceremony of the Hokkaido Ha Long Festival 2023 took place impressively, imbued with the culture and friendship of Vietnam - Japan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, affirmed that 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Japan is one of the most important strategic partners of Vietnam. The Hokkaido Festival in Ha Long and activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Japan diplomatic relations in Quang Ninh with a series of events demonstrating the solidarity and friendship between Quang Ninh province and Hokkaido province to enhance understanding and trust of the people of the two localities, will create new momentum, continue to open up practical and effective cooperation opportunities, contributing to promoting and deepening the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan.

Quang Ninh province believes that, with the sincere heart-to-heart connection between the people of the two countries, along with the development of Vietnam - Japan relations, the two provinces of Quang Ninh - Hokkaido will cooperate and develop sustainably on the future path.

Expressing his joy at coming and cooperating, exchanging culture and people with Quang Ninh, the Governor of Hokkaido province (Japan) affirmed that the Hokkaido festival is an event of special significance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023); the 60th anniversary of the founding of Quang Ninh province (October 30, 1963 - October 30, 2023).

"The relationship between Hokkaido and Vietnam is increasingly stronger and more intimate with many exchange and cooperation events in many fields. Especially in Quang Ninh, the locality has many similarities with Hokkaido when it owns the World Natural Heritage Shiretoko - Ha Long Bay, has many unique cultural features, attracting tourists; and is also known as the top livable land with rich, harmonious and beautiful natural scenery", the Governor of Hokkaido emphasized.

Currently, there are more than 10,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in Hokkaido, enjoying the best preferential treatment like the locals. As Governor of Hokkaido, through this Festival event, Mr. Suzuki Naomichi hopes that more people will come to Hokkaido to visit, work and study.

The Japanese signature Yosakoi dance was impressively performed on the opening night.

The opening night was attended by 500 actors, singers and art troupes from Vietnam and Japan.

Among them, there were famous singers from Quang Ninh such as: Hoang Tung, Ngoc Anh, To Minh Thang, Tuan Anh... Taiko Band (Japan). In addition, the program also had a drum performance with the theme "Resonance of Harmony - Convergence of Spirits"; Yosakoi dances typical of Japan. All created a space of friendship, bringing many impressive and cozy experiences about the culture between the two countries to the audience.

The Hokkaido Ha Long Festival 2023 takes place from November 16 to 19, with 17 diverse activities organized, including: Memorandum of Understanding signing talks, investment promotion conferences, seminars, diplomatic programs of the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance of the Hokkaido Provincial Council with the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Council; launching the Japanese Language and Culture Center at Ha Long University; sightseeing and survey in Quang Ninh; friendly golf tournament and a number of exchange and cooperation activities between agencies and functional units of the two provinces of Quang Ninh and Hokkaido.

The opening program honored the unique Vietnamese - Japanese culture.
