Since joining Minh Ha Agricultural Service Cooperative, Mr. Huynh Huu Luc, residing in Lung Ba Hamlet, Khanh Binh Dong Commune, Tran Van Thoi District, has accessed many sources of support from the association between the Cooperative and Loc Troi Group.
Accordingly, in addition to being supported in farming methods, fertilizers, seeds and commitment to consume output products, cooperative members also have access to modern tools and techniques, serving on their own fields. Most recently, the use of drones (airplanes) to spray pesticides.
After determining the signs and condition of the crop, farmers choose the appropriate medicine and mix it in the right dosage. The remaining task is to control the automatic spraying aircraft.
Mr. Luc's 5-hectare rice field showed signs of rice blast disease. After contacting, the group's staff came to examine it, selected the appropriate medicine and sprayed it as soon as possible, preventing the spread of the disease. When comparing it to doing it manually and preparing everything when the rice was damaged by pests and diseases, Mr. Luc commented: "Previously, with an area of 5 hectares, when the rice was infected, it took 7-8 days for workers to spray, but now it only takes 1 person with a plane, spraying for about 2 hours. My rice area is large, if I delay another day, it will increase the risk, so although I spend less on service fees, I feel more secure and avoid future losses."
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Den, Lung Ba hamlet, Khanh Binh Dong commune, shared: "Instead of traditional spraying, which takes a lot of time, spraying by plane ensures the health of the person spraying directly, then saves effort and cost but is effective quickly."
During flight, through the screen on the controller, the user will be able to monitor the spray direction and observe a wide area even from a distance.
Having nearly 3 years of experience operating drones, Mr. Le Phong Do, Ca Mau Drone Team, of Green Agriculture Management Joint Stock Company, Loc Troi Group, informed: "On average, each drone works for 7 minutes, spraying a tank of 10 liters of pesticides/0.5 ha. The service cost per hectare ranges from 150-200 thousand VND".
Wishing to produce more and more effectively, many farmers also practice approaching new technology, first to serve their families, then boldly invest in airplanes and develop services in the form of charging fees.
Depending on the age of the plant, there are appropriate methods of spraying to ensure that it does not affect future growth.
In Khanh Loc commune, Tran Van Thoi district, Mr. Tran Ut Nam was one of the first people to bring an airplane to fly over his field. He was called "Mr. Nam the airplane pilot" by the locals.
Previously, from renting a plane to spray pesticides for rice fields and orchards, in October 2022, Mr. Nam invested in buying a plane, worth more than 440 million VND. Mr. Nam confided: “People responded very well, because it saves time and effort, and is beneficial to health. At first, I bought it for home use, then whoever needed it, I came to spray to earn more income and recover the capital. To spray proficiently and effectively, when I bought it, I was given proper instructions on flying techniques, and then was granted a certificate to provide the service.”
From being unfamiliar to familiar, now the pesticide spraying plane is a powerful support tool in the crop season. This is considered a new way of doing business , keeping up with the trend of modern farming.
Up to now, Mr. Nam has sprayed services for over 7,000 hectares, after deducting expenses, earning nearly 200 million VND. The joy is doubled when Mr. Nam's professional services are known by many people. During the crop season, the aircraft always operates at full capacity, helping Mr. Nam "make" money in addition to farming./.
