Mild sunshine in the North, heavy rain in the Central region

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from today (October 17) to the morning of October 19, in the area from Quang Tri to Quang Nam , there will be heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 100-250mm, some places over 350mm. In Ha Tinh , Quang Binh and Quang Ngai, rainfall will decrease with 50-150mm, some places over 200mm.

From tomorrow afternoon (October 18), heavy rain in Da Nang, Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai areas will gradually decrease.

In addition, today and tonight, in the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions, there will be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 30-60mm, some places over 100mm (storms are concentrated in the afternoon and evening).

The meteorological agency warned that on October 19, the rainy area will move north. Specifically, the area from Nghe An to Quang Binh will have heavy rain with rainfall of 50-100mm, some places over 150mm. Heavy rain in the areas of Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue will gradually decrease.

The low pressure area at sea is strengthening and is likely to become a tropical depression today, heading towards the Central region. Therefore, the Central region will continue to have heavy rain in many places and the situation will be complicated.

Meanwhile, for the Northern region , today the weather pattern is still sunny. In the Northeast, there will be rain in some places at night; in the Northwest and the capital Hanoi, there will be no rain. The highest temperature in this region is about 32 degrees; the lowest is 19-20 degrees, Hanoi is higher at 22 degrees, the weather is cold.

The low pressure area continues to strengthen, rain is about to spread to the North. The low pressure area is still moving slowly in a West-Northwest direction towards the Central region and is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression. Rain is forecast to spread to the North Central and Northern regions in the coming days.

The North is about to welcome a strengthening cold air mass . From about October 18, a strengthening cold air mass will affect the weather in the North, causing the area to cool down with thunderstorms.
