Under the agreement, MMVN will work closely with VinEnergo to research and deploy the installation of energy storage battery systems at MMVN facilities nationwide. The goal of this cooperation is to optimize MMVN's electricity costs and increase the potential for using renewable energy. After completing the pilot project in the third quarter of 2025, VinEnergo's energy storage system, under the brand name VinFast Energy, is expected to be widely deployed at many MMVN locations from the fourth quarter of this year.
With Green Future, MMVN will jointly research and implement the conversion of internal combustion engine vehicles to VinFast electric vehicles. Green Future will provide flexible car rental services, including short-term, long-term rental and hire-purchase models, thereby helping MMVN optimize operating costs and accelerate the green vehicle transition process.
In addition, with a nationwide infrastructure network, MMVN and V-Green will jointly research and install a charging station system for VinFast electric vehicles at MMVN facilities. Depending on infrastructure conditions, V-Green and MMVN will deploy charging stations with various capacities, thereby facilitating the use of electric cars, contributing to strongly promoting the green transportation trend in Vietnam.
The charging station system is also considered a practical added value for customers using VinFast electric cars when shopping at MMVN facilities. V-Green charging stations are expected to be widely installed at many MMVN locations from the end of this year.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Tran Kim Nga, Director of External Relations of MMVN said: “We believe that, with the support of strategic partners, MM Mega Market will continue to affirm its position as a pioneering retail enterprise in implementing green solutions, contributing to the country's sustainable development goals.”
Mr. Vo Le Duy Duc, Director of VinEnergo Major Customers, shared: “With a comprehensive green solution ecosystem from energy storage to VinFast electric vehicles and infrastructure, we hope to work with MMVN to effectively contribute to sustainable development and optimize business efficiency, bringing dual benefits to businesses and the community.”
Mr. Pham Duc Hung, Managing Director of Vietnam Market Green Future shared: “Through a flexible electric vehicle rental service ecosystem – from short-term, long-term rental to hire-purchase models – combined with a source of genuine used VinFast electric vehicles, we will support MMVN to optimize operating costs and accelerate the process of replacing internal combustion engine vehicles with electric vehicles. This is not only an effective business solution, but also a commitment to join hands for a sustainable development future, bringing dual benefits to businesses and the community.”
The cooperation agreement between MMVN and companies in the Vingroup green ecosystem is an important step forward, affirming the common determination to promote green transformation and move towards a sustainable future. With the strengths of VinEnergo in energy storage, Green Future in flexible car rental services and V-Green in charging station infrastructure, combined with MMVN's infrastructure and facilities in many prime locations, it promises to create breakthrough values for businesses and contribute to Vietnam's common goal of achieving zero net emissions by 2050.
