Due to the Nha Trang wharf being repaired, recently, receiving international tourist ships at Khanh Hoa seaport has encountered many difficulties.
According to Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority, Nha Trang wharf no longer meets the safety and maritime safety requirements to receive passenger ships.
Port operators have proposed to stop receiving passenger ships in the coming time to ensure safety for people and vehicles.
When Nha Trang Port Joint Stock Company announced that it would stop receiving passenger ships, businesses providing services and tourism requested the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to consider an exploitation plan for international passenger ships to anchor in Nha Trang Bay and use tenders to transport tourists to shore.

Since December 2023, Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority has repeatedly chaired meetings with local authorities and relevant departments, agencies, seaport operators, shipping lines and international passenger ship businesses to find solutions and plans to exploit international passenger ships to replace Nha Trang port.

At the meeting, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested the Vietnam Maritime Administration to direct professional units and Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority to carry out procedures to establish an anchorage area for international passenger ships in the waters north of Nha Trang Bay.
Thereby, there are timely solutions to attract international passenger ships to Khanh Hoa seaport, bringing economic efficiency , promoting tourism and the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam in general to international friends.
The Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration has requested Cam Ranh International Port to continue upgrading its facilities and continue working with the Naval Region 4 Command to facilitate international tourists to enter and exit quickly and conveniently so that shipping lines have more options.
To solve current difficulties, the Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration directed the Planning and Investment Department (Vietnam Maritime Administration) and Nha Trang Maritime Port Authority to research, propose, advise, and coordinate with businesses to establish an anchorage area in the northern area of Nha Trang.
"This must be done urgently and this anchorage area can accommodate two cruise ships. At the same time, we request that Ana Marina International Marina Company continue to complete the facilities and arrange working areas for authorities when receiving guests from international cruise ships here," the Director of the Vietnam Maritime Administration directed.
