Spanish media reported that Modric has received three attractive offers from clubs in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United States. However, the midfielder is leaning towards a move to MLS to prepare for the 2026 World Cup. In recent years, this has been the ideal destination for many stars of Modric's generation such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez.

Despite turning 40, Modric has no intention of retiring. According to local news site 24sata , the 39-year-old midfielder aims to participate in the 2026 World Cup with his country if he qualifies. Modric is working hard to be in the best form for this tournament.

Another potential destination for Modric is Swansea. Last month, the midfielder became a shareholder in the English Championship club. Swansea last played in the Premier League in 2018.

Mirror reports that Modric is consulting with former teammate Gareth Bale about his decision to return to English football. In the past, Modric made his name in Tottenham with 127 appearances, scoring 13 goals. In 2012, he left Tottenham to join Real Madrid.
