Talking about infrastructure connection between Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh, people hope that Nguyen Van Bua street will be expanded soon.

Regarding roads, Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh have 37 connection points, of which 11 connection points are prioritized for investment by the two localities in the 2023-2025 period. The route connecting Nguyen Van Bua Street on the Ho Chi Minh City side and DT.824 route on the Tay Ninh province side is one of these 11 points.

More specifically, in September 2024, Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committee of the old Long An province had a record of prioritizing the connection of 7 locations including Nguyen Van Bua Street (Ho Chi Minh City) and DT.824, the newly opened Northwest road (Ho Chi Minh City) and DT.823D, the extended Vo Van Kiet Street (Ho Chi Minh City) and Duc Hoa dynamic axis (including 4.7km of Hai Son - Tan Do road from the border of Ho Chi Minh City), National Highway 50, National Highway 50B and DT.827E, Le Van Luong Street and DT.826C, Long Hau Street and DT.826E.

These 7 connecting routes, on the Ho Chi Minh City side, have existing roads including Nguyen Van Bua, Highway 50, Highway 50B, Le Van Luong and Long Hau. The new Northwest and extended Vo Van Kiet roads have been planned and await investment.

Nguyen Van Bua Street alone is 6.9km long, the starting point connecting from Provincial Road 15 at the intersection of National Highway 22 to the border of Tay Ninh province, and is the route with the largest traffic volume among the connecting routes.

Because this is a convenient route for freight vehicles in the northern area of Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh to move to the Western provinces, as well as connecting the largest industrial concentration area of Tay Ninh province to Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, the 2.7km section from Giong Intersection, where Phan Van Hon Street joins Nguyen Van Bua Street, to Big Bridge, traffic is often congested from morning to night.

Currently, Tay Ninh has invested in synchronous construction of DT.824 road surface with 4 lanes for connection.

As for Ho Chi Minh City, in April 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council added the project to expand Nguyen Van Bua Street (from Giong Intersection to Tay Ninh border) and build the Lon Bridge to the medium-term public investment plan for the 2021-2025 period, with a total investment of more than VND 5,400 billion.

Since this information, people are looking forward to the project being implemented soon.

Starting from Giong Junction, where Phan Van Hon Street joins Nguyen Van Bua Street towards Tay Ninh Province, traffic is often congested. There was a period when Phan Van Hon Street banned cars from entering from Highway 1, causing Nguyen Van Bua Street to often be congested for 6.9km from Highway 22 to Tay Ninh - Photo: SON LAM

With a particularly important location, the current state of Nguyen Van Bua Street from Nga Ba Giong to the border of Long An province, about 3.7km, has only 2 car lanes and 2 mixed lanes, the asphalt concrete is only 12m to 14m wide. Motorcyclists also have a hard time and there is a great risk of traffic accidents when passing through this section of road - Photo: SON LAM

In the photo is the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project crossing Nguyen Van Bua Street. The 3.7km section of Nguyen Van Bua Street from Giong Intersection to the Tay Ninh Provincial Border has created a residential and urban axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City to Tay Ninh. Opening up new spaces and urban axes connected to Ho Chi Minh City is also one of the key points in the planning of Tay Ninh Province, and is also the reason for Tay Ninh to invest in roads towards Ho Chi Minh City and propose that Ho Chi Minh City prioritize investment and opening new connecting roads - Photo: SON LAM

Nguyen Van Bua Street will be expanded from Giong Intersection to Tay Ninh border and build Big Bridge.

The remaining 4 connecting routes have been agreed upon by Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh to invest in the 2023-2025 period, including Ho Chi Minh City and the old Tay Ninh province agreeing to propose priority investment in Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai Expressway, Provincial Road 6 and Provincial Road 15 (Ho Chi Minh City) connecting with Provincial Road 789.

The former Binh Duong province (now Ho Chi Minh City) agreed to prioritize investment in the Binh Duong - Tay Ninh dynamic axis (Bau Bang - Moc Bai), National Highway 56B (Binh Duong) and Provincial Road 782.
