On the evening of December 12th, the Majestic Saigon Hotel celebrated its 100th anniversary – a century of golden beauty, memories, and heritage of Saigon. Construction began in 1925 in the French style, right at the Catinat intersection (now Dong Khoi Street).
This place has witnessed countless historical ups and downs, the transformation of the city, and the growth of Vietnam's tourism and hospitality industry.
Initially, the Majestic had 44 guest rooms, becoming a unique symbol of Saigon. After the reunification of the country, the Majestic was transferred to Saigontourist and renamed Cuu Long Hotel.
In 2007, the Majestic Hotel had the honor of becoming a 5-star hotel entirely managed by Vietnamese people.
Mr. Vo Van Nhanh, Director of the Majestic Saigon Hotel, recounted the hotel's history.
“The entire Majestic Hotel team is committed to further efforts in its sustainable development strategy, 5-star service, upgrading facilities, enhancing digital transformation, and especially preserving the unique heritage values of the hotel, so that Majestic deserves to be the pride of Saigontourist Group and of Ho Chi Minh City.”
"The centenary marks the beginning of a new journey, a journey towards a Majestic of the next century, more modern, more professional, but still retaining the beauty and identity that has made its name over the past decade," said Mr. Vo Van Nhanh.
