Mac Dinh Chi Secondary School, Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City, has just announced the admission method for grade 6 for the 2025-2026 school year.
This year, the school enrolls 10 6th grade classes, each class has no more than 35 students. There are 3 integrated English classes and 7 intensive English classes.
The condition for admission is that students must have completed primary school at public primary schools in Tan Binh district in the 2024-2025 school year, with excellent results in grade 5.
Each year a student achieves the title of excellent student will correspond to 1 point (maximum 5 points for 5 years of primary school).
The school also considers the final exam scores of the second semester of the 2024-2025 school year; English certificates; students with individual awards in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years in areas such as: information technology; physical education; arts ( music /fine arts); Team activities... will also be given priority.

Regarding English proficiency requirements for admission to integrated grade 6:
Priority 1 is for students who complete primary school in an integrated English program.
Priority 2 is for students who do not study the integrated English program in primary school and must meet one of the following conditions: have a PEIC (PTE Young Learners) certificate at Quickmarch level (Pass - minimum number of stars 3/5 stars according to the Pearson English system);
Have a Flyers certificate (minimum number of shields 12/15 shields) according to the Cambridge English system; Have a TOEFL Primary Level 2 certificate with a minimum number of badges of 3/4 badges (TOEFL Primary, Step 2, 3 badges) according to the ETS system; Other international certificates from level A2 or higher.
English proficiency requirements for admission to intensive English classes:

Each student can only register for one type of admission; each criterion will be converted into a corresponding score.

In Ho Chi Minh City, some other secondary schools also have strict requirements for 6th grade admission, such as Van Don Secondary School, District 4, which only admits students with high academic results and achievements; Tran Dai Nghia Secondary - High School only admits students with scores of 9 or higher in math and Vietnamese in 5th grade.
