MU considers Mbeumo an important target. |
According to Athletic , the Red Devils have submitted a £55m offer to Brentford for Mbeumo, including a £45m transfer fee and £10m in add-ons. However, this figure still falls short of Brentford's demands, who value Mbeumo at more than £60m.
Mbeumo wants to move to Old Trafford if a deal can be reached. Talks between the two parties are ongoing. Newcastle United, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been linked with Mbeumo, but the player has made it clear he will wait for United.
However, the Times reports that Mbeumo expects to earn five times more than he would if he moved to United. The Cameroon international currently earns £50,000 a week at Brentford. He is expected to earn £250,000 a week at Old Trafford, which would put him among the highest earners at the club.
Earlier, Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted that the team would sell Mbeumo if they received a reasonable offer. He said: "If Mbeumo leaves, it will be for a very large amount of money. It is obviously very difficult to find a suitable replacement for him."
Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided eight assists for Brentford last season, playing the full 90 minutes in every Premier League game.
Before Mbeumo, MU also successfully recruited Matheus Cunha for a fee of 62.5 million pounds, with a salary of up to 200,000 pounds per week, according to Telegraph .
