Cuc Phuong National Park is a nature reserve located in 3 provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa Binh , Thanh Hoa. These days, Cuc Phuong National Park enters a special season - butterfly breeding season.

Thousands of butterflies flying in the sky in Cuc Phuong National Park attract many people and tourists to come and enjoy and take souvenir photos.

Butterfly breeding season in Cuc Phuong is around April and May. In the middle of the green primeval forest, thousands of colorful butterflies fly everywhere, creating a scene that is both lively and poetic.

Visitors entering the forest gate have already begun to see butterflies, but from the second ranger station onwards, the butterflies appear more densely. White, yellow, orange, blue, and striped butterflies... gather in flocks, especially in Mac Lake and the Ancient People Cave.

The deeper you go, the more beautiful and magical the scenery becomes. The moment the butterflies flutter their wings like a "living picture" of nature makes anyone surprised and unforgettable.

According to Mr. Pham Kien Cuong, Director of the Centerfor Education , Environment and Services, Cuc Phuong National Park, according to the Park's statistics, there are more than 400 species of butterflies in bloom during the butterfly season. Every year during the butterfly season, the number of visitors to the Park can increase from 4 to 5 times. In April alone, Cuc Phuong welcomed over 5 thousand visitors.

In recent years, to preserve butterflies, the Garden has restricted large vehicles from entering the forest during holidays and Tet and recommends that visitors not harm or injure them when visiting the forest and watching butterflies. Butterflies are almost harmless to humans, so people should respect and love these small, wonderfully beautiful insects.

Mr. Cuong added that butterflies are very strange and interesting insects. To reach adulthood, they take about 30 days or more depending on external factors. Adult butterflies can live from a week to nearly a year. Tourists who want to hunt butterflies should go on weekdays instead of holidays and Tet when there are many tourists and vehicles entering the forest, making it difficult to hunt for beautiful photos with flocks of butterflies.

In addition to butterfly hunting, at this time, the Park has many special tours such as: Watching fireflies sparkling in the middle of the old forest; observing rare animals such as deer, pangolins, civets, wild cats, otters; learning about the ecosystem, conservation work and insects. These are unique experiences that are rarely available to visitors.

For young people, Cuc Phuong National Park these days is hailed as a "virtual living coordinate" because of its beauty combined with the sparkling early summer sunlight and flocks of colorful butterflies flying around, creating a dreamlike scene.

Tourist Nguyen Linh, Nam Dinh province shared that although she had seen the photos taken by young people at Cuc Phuong National Park, when she experienced it herself, Linh still felt overwhelmed by the sight of thousands of butterflies flying across the sky. The scene was both fragile and magical, making Linh immediately want to pick up her camera and capture it with her lens many times.

Nguyen Linh shares the secret to hunting for beautiful butterfly photos, visitors should bring sweets or bread, sponge cake, the more fragrant the more butterflies will be attracted. In addition, visitors should move gently, should choose sports shoes to walk softly, so that when walking, they will not disturb the butterflies.

For many people, hunting butterflies is not only to hunt for beautiful photos, but also an opportunity to return to nature, learn to listen to the breath of the forest, and immerse yourself in the cycle of creation. That is also what makes Cuc Phuong so attractive every butterfly season./.
