Gazprom Neft said that the corporation has been continuously preparing for various negative sanctions scenarios over the past two years.
Besides, Gazprom Neft has been facing unilateral foreign sanctions since 2022, so many such restrictions have been taken into account in the operating procedures.
Meanwhile, the Russian insurance company Ingossstrakh, also on the sanctions list, confirmed that it is still operating normally and fully fulfilling its obligations to customers.
Earlier the same day, the US Treasury Department announced large-scale sanctions against Russia's energy sector, including the inclusion of 183 oil tankers and two oil and gas corporations, Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegas, and more than 20 branches of these corporations.
The ministry's announcement stressed that the new sanctions are aimed at "implementing the commitment of the Group of Seven (G7) leading industrialized countries to cut off Russia's energy revenues."
A senior official of the world's largest economy said this was the largest round of sanctions ever imposed on the Russian energy sector, aiming to cost the country's economy billions of dollars a month.
Meanwhile, the US State Department will also take action against Moscow's energy sector, specifically "blocking two operational liquefied natural gas projects, a major Russian oil project, and third-country entities that support energy exports."
In addition, the Ministry also added to the sanctions list “several oil and gas service providers based in Russia and senior officials of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom”.
