International Food Festival 2025: A journey of flavors connecting diplomacy and culture

November 2025 will mark the 13th International Food Festival (IGF). This is an annual event hosted by the Diplomatic Corps Service Department, authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with domestic and foreign agencies and organizations.

Having been held 12 times, the Festival has become a prestigious cultural diplomacy activity, contributing to promoting exchange, understanding, and friendship between Vietnam and international friends through the common language of cuisine.

From the beginning of August 2025, the Department of Diplomatic Services proactively implemented preparatory work with a professional, responsible, and creative spirit. To date, the basic foundational steps have been completed, and the progress meets the plan's requirements. The Organizing Committee is continuing to finalize the script, secure sponsorships, handle technical issues, and coordinate security and media coverage, aiming for the successful organization of the event. The press conference introducing the Festival is scheduled to take place on November 11th.

The 2025 International Food Festival, themed “Trip of Flavors,” offers diners the chance to discover the culinary essence of five continents right in the heart of Hanoi. “Trip” suggests a journey of connection and discovery; “Flavors” symbolizes diversity and cultural exchange through each dish. Each stall, each flavor, tells a “silent story,” contributing to strengthening friendship and understanding between nations.

2025 also marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam's diplomatic service. In this context, the continued maintenance and enhancement of the International Food Festival by the Department of Diplomatic Services not only contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam and its hospitable and elegant people, but also affirms the Department's role in building "service diplomacy" – one that is cohesive, creative, humane, and integrated.

Taking the lotus flower, a cultural symbol of purity, simplicity, and profoundness, as its central theme, the 2025 International Food Festival celebrates the essence of Vietnamese cuisine, igniting national pride and the aspiration for a dynamic and friendly Vietnam in the new era.

With its extensive experience in organization and professional spirit, the Department of Diplomatic Services continues to affirm its pioneering role in connecting culture, cuisine, and diplomacy, contributing to spreading the values ​​of modern, approachable, and distinctive Vietnamese diplomacy.
