This activity involved 35 volunteer members, including KEPCO employees and managers nationwide. The team contributed to enhancing community safety, improving living environments, supporting disadvantaged families, and promoting cultural and educational exchange for young people, thereby fulfilling the company's global social responsibility.
Since the establishment of the Social Volunteer Team in 2004 with the motto "Light for the world , love for the community," more than 308 volunteer teams with approximately 22,000 KEPCO employees nationwide have participated in community service activities. In this trip to Vietnam, 35 outstanding members from volunteer teams across the country were selected and actively participated in activities in the Thanh Hoa region.

Enhancing community safety and improving living environments.
The three communes of Vinh Loc, Tay Do, and Bien Thuong in Thanh Hoa province are rural areas with limited infrastructure. Public lighting systems on village roads and around schools are inadequate, causing inconvenience and danger when traveling at night. In addition, many low-income households live in dilapidated houses, posing significant safety risks. Therefore, the KEPCO volunteer team has installed solar-powered streetlights, improved housing for disadvantaged households, and organized cultural exchange activities as part of its global corporate social responsibility efforts.

To address the safety issues caused by poor nighttime lighting, the team installed 70 solar-powered streetlights, significantly improving the safety of residents and children in the area.
In addition, the team assisted in building or repairing houses, and directly carried out the painting work for 10 disadvantaged families in Vinh Loc, Tay Do, and Bien Thuong communes, helping them to have a safer and more hygienic living environment.

At Pham Van Hinh Secondary School (Tay Do commune), the delegation organized a sports festival and an activity involving decorating traditional Vietnamese conical hats for 110 students. The delegation also donated 130 DIY solar-powered toy kits to help students better understand renewable energy.
Voices from reality
At the closing ceremony on the final day, 10 families who received housing improvement support, along with representatives from the People's Committees of Tay Do, Vinh Loc, and Bien Thuong communes, were in attendance.
One of the beneficiary households shared: “Thanks to the timely support from the program, our family's house has been renovated to be cleaner and safer. We are very grateful because this has helped to stabilize our lives and give us more peace of mind in our daily activities.”
Mr. Ham Gyu-shig, Head of the KEPCO Volunteer Team, said: “As a company that brings light to the community, we are very proud to have the opportunity to bring the light of hope to impoverished rural areas in Vietnam. We hope that through this activity, KEPCO will become a familiar name to the local people whenever it is mentioned.”
