Raising awareness of sea and islands for women in Kien Giang province

From April 14-18, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with the Women's Union of Kien Giang province to organize propaganda on seas and islands in 2025 for female cadres and members in the province.

The activity was carried out in 5 coastal and island communes of Kien Giang province, including: Linh Huynh, Son Binh, Nam Du, An Son and Vinh Hoa Hiep.

The reporter from the Naval Region 5 Command provided a lot of practical information about the position and role of Vietnam's seas and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The propaganda content focused on clarifying the historical and legal basis affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; the current situation in the seas; the viewpoints and policies of the Party and State in resolving disputes at sea, along with the outstanding results of the Vietnam People's Navy in carrying out its assigned political tasks.

Ms. Ha Thi Phuc, a member of the Women's Union of An Son Commune (Kien Hai District, Kien Giang Province) shared: “The information about the sea and islands provided by the reporter of the Naval Region 5 Command is very diverse, profound and meaningful. Previously, our knowledge about this issue was limited, but through today's propaganda session, we understand more clearly the importance of the sea and islands to the country and the responsibility of each citizen. After the conference, I will actively share this knowledge with my family and neighbors so that everyone can raise awareness of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.”

According to the delegates, the propaganda activities have contributed to raising awareness, promoting the role and responsibility of Kien Giang women in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. At the same time, they called on women members to actively participate in activities towards the homeland's sea and islands with practical, specific and meaningful actions. Thereby promoting the combined strength, joining hands with forces to firmly protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
