The program also demonstrates Nestlé Vietnam's initiative in promoting cooperation and increasing support for partners, including private enterprises and small and medium-sized enterprises, to improve competitiveness in the spirit of Resolution 68/NQ-TW.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Khuat Quang Hung, Deputy General Director of External Affairs and Communications, Nestlé Vietnam, shared: "This training program is part of our long-term commitment to building a responsible and sustainable supply chain. By supporting recycling businesses—especially small and medium-sized enterprises—through sharing knowledge and tools to improve occupational safety and health practices, we hope to ensure the rights of workers and contribute to building a greener future. Nestlé Vietnam is always steadfast in its mission of creating shared value and promoting the long-term development of the community, with people at the heart of all activities."
Within the framework of the program, experts shared important fundamental knowledge as well as the latest updates from relevant legal regulations and international requirements aimed at assessing corporate responsibility for environmental compliance and workers' rights in the supply chain.
Through this, leaders and management teams of companies operating in the recycling sector will better understand their roles and responsibilities in building a safe, compliant, responsible working environment and culture, ensuring the health of employees, improving work quality, and minimizing the risk of work accidents.

In addition to the technical content, the program also provided the participants with practical sharing from UNDP in Vietnam through the implementation of the initiative on responsible procurement in the two plastic recycling value chains of Duy Tan and Vikohasan. This initiative was implemented with the main goal of improving working conditions and enhancing the rights of the informal sector in the scrap sector.
“The informal scrap workforce plays an important role in the waste collection, transportation and recycling system in Viet Nam. Through this initiative, we will work with all stakeholders in the plastic recycling value chain to adopt and implement standards that improve their working conditions and livelihoods, while ensuring that their contributions are recognized,” said Mr. Hoang Thanh Vinh, UNDP Representative in Viet Nam.
Ms. Luu Thi Kim Lien, Director of Human Resources Administration, Duy Tan Recycled Plastic Joint Stock Company, assessed the practicality of the training program organized by Nestle' Vietnam. According to Ms. Kim Lien, the content shared in the program will help businesses review and perfect internal processes, ensure compliance with current regulations and create a safe working environment for employees.
In the context of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) becoming a key factor in achieving sustainable development goals, businesses are not only focusing on environmental factors but also paying more attention to society and governance. As a pioneer in ESG practices and with the philosophy of "creating shared value", Nestlé has many specific initiatives and programs to contribute to the prosperity of the community.
