Meta's communications director Andy Stone was placed on Russia's wanted list on Sunday, state news agency TASS reported, weeks after Russian authorities in October classified Meta as a "terrorist and extremist" organization.

The Russian Interior Ministry database does not provide details about the case against Stone, only saying that he is wanted on criminal charges. Meta has not yet responded to a request for comment.
In March of this year, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation opened a criminal investigation into Meta. They alleged that Meta's actions related to the Russia-Ukraine war constituted incitement to violence against Russians.
Mediazona news site reported on Sunday that a Russian court issued an arrest warrant earlier this month for Stone on charges of “supporting terrorism.”
Western social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and X were popular with young Russians before the war in Ukraine, but are now banned. In April 2022, Russia also banned Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg from entering the country.
