That is also the theme of this year's Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival: The Multi-Color Train - inspired by the two Thong Nhat trains departing at the same time on December 31, 1976 at Hanoi Station and Ho Chi Minh City Station, inaugurating the North-South railway line, bringing peace, healing, and friendship.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan presents flowers to Miss Vo Le Que Anh, the ambassador of the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival.
This contest aims to introduce native orchid varieties and newly hybridized orchids, thereby creating opportunities for gardeners, cooperatives, and people to meet, exchange, and share experiences in growing and caring for orchids, especially orchids with high economic value, contributing to enhancing the brand of orchids and other flowers and ornamental plants, which are the main plants of Ho Chi Minh City.
Mini Cattleya by artist Mai Ngoc Duong, Lam Dong won first prize in orchid competition
The jury selected 70 outstanding orchid samples to award prizes. The winning orchid samples were displayed at the festival to serve the needs of local people and tourists.
Artisan Mai Ngoc Duong, from Da Lat, won first prize in the mini Cattleya competition and happily told Tuoi Tre Online that he took care of the orchid pot for 5 years with many steps.
"Orchids are a type of flower that requires a lot of effort from the grower. Each type needs different amounts of sunlight, water, and fertilizer, so it's hard to have a general formula to share. But the most important thing for orchid growers is their passion and love for this flower," he said.
"HCMC expects orchid and ornamental plant products, especially newly created and bred flowers, to be introduced, promoted and boosted to connect domestic and international market demand.
This is an opportunity for gardeners, cooperatives, and businesses to exchange and learn, and improve orchid products. Gradually positioning the orchid brand as one of the main flowers of Ho Chi Minh City in the agricultural sector.
After this festival, the units continue to organize seminars and conferences on orchids to guide and support online sales and e-commerce platforms to help businesses, cooperatives, and gardeners introduce products to consumers across the country and expand to the world market."
