According to history books, the mountain is called Doi Den, and was an important watchtower at the Northeast Pass hundreds of years ago. At Doi Den mountain, lights were always kept on for boats to reach the shore; when there were enemies, this was the place to light fires to send news to the capital.
In the spring of 1468, King Le Thanh Tong led his troops on a patrol in the Northeast sea and stopped at the foot of Doi Den Mountain. Moved by the beautiful scenery of green mountains and blue water here, King Le Thanh Tong had a poem carved on the cliff.
In 1729, Lord An Do Vuong Trinh Cuong, a famous poet of the Le - Trinh dynasty, passed by here and read a poem by King Le Thanh Tong, and then wrote a poem in response, which was also carved on the cliff. From then on, the mountain was named Poetry Mountain.
