The news that the Ha Long City government is investing in a road to Bai Tho Mountain has made locals and tourists "restless". The mountain located in the center of Ha Long City is likened to a "special telescope" because from the top, you can see the majestic natural heritage of Ha Long Bay, or the whole beautiful Ha Long City, the long coastal road...

Although the mountain is not high, the road to the top is not simple, because there are many steep slopes, sharp rocks, and deep ravines. Passing the stone steps and steep slopes, when reaching the top of the mountain, it seems that all fatigue will be dispelled when appearing before the eyes of visitors is the vast space of Ha Long Bay with majestic clouds, mountains and rivers.

Currently, the People's Committee of Ha Long City has developed a plan to restore and embellish the relic for the entrance to the relic, the relic management board house, the switchboard office house, the shelter cave, the evacuation command team, the public house, the rest hut... with capital from the state budget to carry out the site clearance work and will call for businesses to participate in investment.

On the top of the mountain, the red flag with a yellow star flutters. This is also the location where, in the early morning of May 1, 1930, the Ba Deo train driver Dao Van Tuat secretly and bravely climbed up to hang the Party flag.

Standing here, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful Ha Long City on the bay with unique designs: Clock Tower, Ha Long coastal road; Quang Ninh Provincial Library - Museum complex; Bai Chay tourist area...

According to history books, the mountain is called Doi Den, and was an important watchtower at the Northeast Pass hundreds of years ago. At Doi Den mountain, lights were always kept on for boats to reach the shore; when there were enemies, this was the place to light fires to send news to the capital.

In the spring of 1468, King Le Thanh Tong led his troops on a patrol in the Northeast sea and stopped at the foot of Doi Den Mountain. Moved by the beautiful scenery of green mountains and blue water here, King Le Thanh Tong had a poem carved on the cliff.

In 1729, Lord An Do Vuong Trinh Cuong, a famous poet of the Le - Trinh dynasty, passed by here and read a poem by King Le Thanh Tong, and then wrote a poem in response, which was also carved on the cliff. From then on, the mountain was named Poetry Mountain.
