Anh Vien and Do Kim Phuc set a record in Ha Long Bay

Swimmer Anh Vien and juggling artist Do Kim Phuc have just set a unique record in Ha Long Bay (Quang Ninh), leaving fans amazed and excited.

On May 27, information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province said that swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien and ball juggling artist Do Kim Phuc collaborated to set a record for the longest boat towing and ball juggling in Vietnam, in a unique performance in the heart of the World Natural Heritage.

Accordingly, at Coc Cheo beach on Ha Long Bay, Anh Vien swam continuously for 1.14 km in 30 minutes and 41 seconds, pulling a 5 m long, 1.8 m wide MS QN-3068 canoe (maximum capacity of 8 people). On the boat, Do Kim Phuc performed juggling the ball throughout the journey, not letting the ball fall, and performed many technical moves such as juggling the ball with the feet, spinning the ball above the head, hands, shoulders, etc.

This is the first time in Vietnam that there is a combination of endurance sports and performing arts on water, requiring high precision, good coordination and perseverance from both athletes.

Set Vietnam record

This special performance was supervised and confirmed by the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) and local authorities. Representatives of the record organization included Dr. Tran Ngoc Tang, former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, former President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society , Vice President of the Central Vietnam Record Association; Mr. Hoang Thai Tuan Anh, Secretary General of the Indochina Records Organization, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Records Institute, Head of the Northern Representative of the Vietnam Records Organization.

The event not only recorded a new national record, but also strongly spread the message of the "Dare to think - Dare to do" spirit of Vietnamese youth, encouraging a creative lifestyle, dedication and pursuit of passion.

Speaking to Thanh Nien , a leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province said that the locality spent its own money to coordinate the organization of the above event. With a unique combination of sports, arts and culture, this activity also contributes to promoting the image of majestic and dynamic Ha Long Bay to domestic and international audiences. This is a special media highlight, contributing to enriching the forms of cultural tourism exploitation in Quang Ninh.
