The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has just issued an official dispatch to the Departments of Tourism, Culture, Sports and Tourism of the provinces and cities of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, and Khanh Hoa on proactively preventing, avoiding, responding to, and overcoming the consequences of floods caused by storm Kalmaegi.
The leaders of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration requested the above localities to urgently grasp the difficulties, advise and propose to competent authorities solutions to support tourism service businesses and households doing community tourism in the areas heavily affected by post-storm floods, in order to soon stabilize production and business life.
Industry leaders requested localities to direct management boards of tourist areas and destinations, and tourism service establishments in the area to proactively coordinate closely with local authorities, functional agencies and relevant units to organize forces to support people and tourists in affected areas.
In addition, comprehensively review and assess the extent of damage to tourism infrastructure and technical facilities (equipment at destinations, accommodation facilities, means of transport, etc.), thereby focusing resources to quickly repair and restore damaged infrastructure after storms.
Develop plans and roadmaps for reopening tourist destinations and services affected by storms safely and effectively; organize environmental sanitation and disinfection within the premises to ensure clean and beautiful tourist landscapes; ensure safety and environmental sanitation standards before welcoming guests back.
In addition, the National Tourism Administration requires the development of new and attractive tourism programs and products, incentive and promotional programs to attract tourists after the storm.../.
