The working delegation of the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Committee surveyed and worked at the Department of Education and Training.
Many efforts in ensuring the quality of teaching and learning
According to the Department of Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, the province will have more than 12,000 classes with over 392,600 students, with an average class size of 33 students. It is expected that in the 2025-2026 school year, the province will have more than 395,900 students, including nearly 27,100 ethnic minority students , more than 9,800 disadvantaged students, and 911 students with disabilities who are integrated into the education system. The whole sector will have 525 dropouts and 1,084 transfer students.
Ms. Tran Thi Huynh Dao, Head of the Culture - Social Committee of the Provincial People's Council, spoke at the meeting.
Regarding staff, the industry currently has nearly 23,600 cadres, teachers and employees, but is still short of more than 1,800 people compared to the assigned target. The industry has coordinated with universities to organize regular training and upgrading qualifications to meet the requirements of educational innovation.
Mr. Ta Thanh Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, reported on the implementation of tasks for the 2024-2025 school year and the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year to the working delegation.
Mr. Ta Thanh Vu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said: "The education sector is making efforts to both ensure scale and improve the quality of teaching and learning, focusing on training staff and modernizing facilities."
Recommendations and future directions
The education sector is still facing many difficulties: teacher recruitment still has overlapping authority; some localities lack support policies for teachers teaching in inter-schools; many facilities do not have enough classrooms to organize 2 sessions/day, lack subject rooms, functional rooms and teaching equipment, especially in degraded schools.
Besides, the implementation of revenue collection according to the Provincial People's Council Resolution, the implementation of Circular 29 on extra teaching and learning and the progress of building schools that meet national standards are still under great pressure.

Comrade Tran Thi Huynh Dao highly appreciated the efforts of the industry, and at the same time requested the Department of Education and Training to continue reviewing facilities, creating conditions to expand teaching two sessions/day; advising the Provincial People's Committee to specify regulations in organizing extra teaching and learning according to Circular 29, especially in the high school graduation exam review group.
The Department of Education and Training recommends that the province continue to prioritize resources for investing in schools that meet national standards in the 2026-2030 period; pay attention to allocating the budget to upgrade facilities and teaching equipment in disadvantaged areas; and at the same time allow the application of flexible mechanisms in recruiting and arranging teachers, especially at preschool and primary levels.
The survey is the basis for the Provincial People's Council's Culture and Social Affairs Committee to advise on appropriate policies, contributing to strengthening the education system and moving towards sustainable and comprehensive development in the coming time.
