ASEAN Family Day 2025 in New York: Spreading Identity, Strengthening Solidarity

On June 22, in the suburbs of New York City, the US, the event “ASEAN Family Day 2025” took place with the participation of nearly 1,000 officials, employees and family members from the Permanent Missions to the United Nations (UN) and Consulates of 10 ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste.

With the theme of “community bonding”, traditional Southeast Asian cultural and sporting activities stirred up the ASEAN family festival atmosphere - from vibrant folk games to performances imbued with regional identity.

Ambassadors, Consuls General, staff and their families joined in the games, with laughter and joy spreading, contributing to strengthening solidarity and the spirit of the ASEAN community in New York.

An indispensable highlight of ASEAN Family Day is the colorful culinary space, where each country introduces its typical traditional delicacies.

Vietnam's booth featured beef pho, fried spring rolls, lotus root salad and iced milk coffee – bringing familiar flavors but always leaving a deep impression on international friends.

ASEAN Family Day 2025, with the coordination efforts of the Permanent Mission of Malaysia - the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in New York (ANYC), was a great success, leaving many beautiful memories and a vivid demonstration of an ASEAN Community "unity in diversity".

ASEAN Family Day is an annual event to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and friendship among ASEAN countries as well as between the bloc and partner countries, held in many cities around the world, where there are many diplomatic missions of member countries.
