ASEAN Family Day 2025 in Tokyo - Strengthening solidarity, cultivating love

On November 15, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan hosted the ASEAN Family Day 2025 (ACT Family Day 2025) at Kasai Rinkai Marine Park in Edogawa District of Tokyo.

This is an annual event within the framework of the activities of the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT) to strengthen friendship, cohesion and close relations between ASEAN representative agencies and families.

This year, the event was attended by more than 300 diplomats and family members from 11 embassies of ASEAN countries in Japan, along with the Japanese representative, the Japan-ASEAN Center. The event also marked a special milestone with the participation of Timor Leste for the first time as an official member of ASEAN.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu stressed that this is an opportunity for ASEAN representative agencies to work together to foster solidarity, enhance understanding and strengthen trust, thereby contributing to deepening relations between ASEAN countries in Japan. In particular, the presence of Timor Leste represents an important step forward in expanding cooperation and building an increasingly strong ASEAN family in Tokyo.

ASEAN Family Day in Tokyo took place with many exciting sports games and cultural activities.

For his part, Mr. Hirabayashi Kunihiko, Secretary General of the Japan-ASEAN Center, emphasized the importance of the Japan-ASEAN relationship and highly appreciated the significance of the event. According to him, the ASEAN families brought a vibrant and impressive atmosphere on a beautiful sunny day in the Japanese capital.

The ASEAN Family Day in Tokyo took place with many exciting sports games, cultural activities and a diverse ASEAN culinary space for both adults and children. The exciting and joyful atmosphere spread throughout the program, creating a warm and close-knit family festival. The event has ended, but the spirit of friendship and solidarity still spread strongly, affirming the mark and effective coordinating role of Vietnam in ASEAN activities in Japan in 2025.
