The 6th Red Cross Patriotic Emulation Congress: Honoring 270 typical humanitarians

At the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said that the Congress will take place from November 22 to 23 in Hanoi , with about 400 delegates attending, including 270 advanced models honored and rewarded.

The 6th National Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society is a major event associated with the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (November 23, 1946 - November 23, 2025) and the "Humanitarian Power 2025" Program.

This is also an opportunity to look back at the outstanding results of the patriotic emulation movement in the 2020-2025 period - the period when the association's humanitarian movement spread strongly and persistently throughout society.

Through the congress, continue to arouse and spread more strongly the spirit of "competing to do good deeds", becoming a driving force to promote humanitarian movements to develop widely and sustainably, contributing to building a humane society, leaving no one behind.

According to the leader of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, over the past 5 years, the patriotic emulation movement of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has continued to affirm itself as a special mass movement - competing to do humanitarian work, competing for the poor and vulnerable.

The whole association has mobilized and assisted more than 102 million people, with a total value of over VND 29,186 billion, an increase of 45% compared to the previous period, actively contributing to the implementation of social security goals, caring for the disadvantaged, and supporting sustainable poverty reduction in the country.

In the field of social and humanitarian work, the association at all levels has implemented many models close to the people and their needs, such as: "Pot of love porridge", "Red Cross kitchen", "Red Cross rice jar", "House helping house", models of capital support for livestock farming, economic development... with a total value of 21,676 billion VND, supporting 56 million people (an increase of 44% compared to the previous period).

Disaster prevention and response work has made strong progress, with a total support value of VND 2,147 billion, assisting 5.6 million people (2.45 times higher than the previous period).

In the period of 2025-2030, the Vietnam Red Cross Society determines the goal of continuing to strongly innovate the patriotic emulation movement, associated with the implementation of the Resolution of the 11th and 12th National Red Cross Congress and the Society's Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2045.

The emulation movement will focus on deepening the association's major campaigns; promoting disaster prevention and response, community health care, blood donation and organ donation; strengthening resource mobilization, international cooperation and social humanitarian programs associated with the goal of "leaving no one behind".
