During the past 4 days of the holiday, tourists still flocked to the beach and entertainment areas in Vung Tau.

According to Vung Tau Urban Environment and Construction Services Joint Stock Company (VESCO), on average, Vung Tau City generates more than 400 tons of household waste every day. On April 30, May 1 and 2, the amount of waste increased by about 30% each day.
To ensure that waste does not accumulate on beaches, tourist areas and entertainment venues, in addition to 46-50 specialized vehicles per day, the company also proactively rents 5 specialized garbage compactors, 15 dump trucks and 1 excavator to promptly collect and transport waste to the Toc Tien centralized waste treatment area (Phu My City).
Tourists packed Vung Tau beach on the afternoon of May 1, but the beach was still very clean. |
According to Mr. Phan Xuan Huan, General Director of VESCO, not only well-prepared vehicles, from 4am to 12am every day, VESCO also mobilized more than 500 workers and 70 people to increase garbage collection at crowded places, not letting garbage accumulate until the next day. Especially in areas where cultural and artistic events are held, Bai Sau Park, beaches, etc.
According to the reporter of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper, on days when there are many tourists, the beaches, parks, and stone embankments along Bai Truoc, Bai Sau, Bai Dau, Bai Dua, etc. are still quite clean. Trash bins are placed everywhere, and most tourists comply with the rules of throwing trash in the right place.
Particularly at the beach area, VESCO arranges workers to be on duty regularly to collect garbage. Therefore, under the beach, although the number of visitors is large, thanks to the force on duty regularly reminding visitors not to bring food into the sea and cleaning and collecting garbage promptly, Vung Tau beach is very clean.
Some areas are allowed to sell soft drinks, but the city has organized regular forces to collect and remind tourists to throw their trash in the right place. Thanks to that, despite the large number of tourists and the high pressure of waste, Vung Tau City always maintains a clean and beautiful environment.
In localities, garbage collection and treatment work has been enhanced so that garbage does not accumulate in residential areas and tourist areas.
According to Xuyen Moc district, to ensure thorough collection and no waste left over during the day, the district has requested local environmental service units to implement many solutions in terms of both vehicles and personnel.
Specifically, service units must mobilize maximum human resources to collect and process garbage; add more time frames and means of collecting trailers, carts, and garbage trucks; increase the frequency of collection trips; proactively adjust human resources between stages to reduce pressure on garbage collectors...
Beaches, entertainment areas, and crowded tourist attractions in Long Dat and Chau Duc districts all have plans to collect and treat garbage promptly, and encourage people and tourists to dispose of garbage in the right place to maintain environmental hygiene.
According to Kbec Vina Company Limited (100ha Toc Tien centralized waste treatment area, Phu My City) - the unit that handles domestic waste in the province, during the holidays, the amount of domestic waste increases sharply compared to normal days. In particular, Vung Tau City and Xuyen Moc District are the places with the highest increase.
Accordingly, the amount of household waste generated is about 1,500 - 1,800 tons/day (an increase of about 30-45% compared to normal days). However, the company still arranges personnel and vehicles to receive and process waste according to the correct process, ensuring environmental hygiene.
Mr. Tran Huu Phuc, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said that his family chose to spend the holiday in Vung Tau and Long Dat. He was quite satisfied because although there were many tourists coming to Vung Tau, especially in the Bai Sau park area, all areas were clean. "I was very impressed with Vung Tau and Long Hai beaches because there was no drinking and eating on the beach, so the beaches were kept clean and blue," said Mr. Phuc.
