On May 27, Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital is actively treating two children in Nhu Thanh district, Thanh Hoa, who suffered severe burns from playing with gasoline at home.
According to family members, on the afternoon of May 24, while everyone was at work, HQD (born in 2019) and VHTA (born in 2018), cousins, were playing at home. While the two children were holding a lighter and half a bottle of gasoline from their father to burn ants, the fire suddenly spread to them.

Ms. Ha Thi Khuyen, D.'s mother, was harvesting rice in the field near her house. Hearing her child crying, she ran home. When she got to the yard, she was shocked to see A. burning like a living torch.
Ms. Khuyen quickly covered A. with her shirt to put out the fire, then called for everyone to take both of them to Nhu Thanh District Hospital for first aid.
Due to the serious condition, the two children were transferred directly to Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital for treatment.
At Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital, D. was diagnosed with third-degree burns, covering 15% of the body, mainly on the face and right forearm. He was anesthetized, had his bandages changed, and continued to be cared for and monitored at the Department of Trauma Surgery.
Meanwhile, child A. suffered third-degree burns covering 60% of his back, abdomen, hands, groin, genitals, buttocks and thighs.
After two days of treatment at the Trauma Department, due to the seriousness of the condition, A. was transferred to the Emergency - Intensive Care and Anti-Poison Department.
Both children are currently receiving intensive care and monitoring. The prognosis is that their hospital stay will be prolonged, especially in the case of child A.
