Eight-month pregnant woman suspected of being doused with gasoline and burned by her husband

On the afternoon of November 26, a leader of Ea Tan commune (Krong Nang district, Dak Lak ) confirmed that an incident had just occurred in the area in which a husband was suspected of pouring gasoline and setting his pregnant wife on fire, and the police were coordinating the investigation.

According to the commune leader, the unit has just grasped the information because this family completely kept it a secret, did not report it and is also at the hospital taking care of the pregnant woman.

"Preliminary information shows that the couple had a conflict, the wife was 33 weeks pregnant and was burned by her husband. The incident occurred in Thanh Cao village of Ea Tan commune," said the commune leader.

According to information from the Central Highlands General Hospital, on the afternoon of November 23, the hospital received patient D.TPO (21 years old, residing in Ea Tan commune, Krong Nang district) with first, second, and third degree gasoline burns and was 8 months pregnant.

At the time of admission, patient O.'s mother revealed that her husband poured gasoline on her and set her on fire on the afternoon of November 22. The patient was then taken to Thien Hanh General Hospital (Buon Ma Thuot City) for emergency treatment and then transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital.

Upon examination, pregnant woman O. suffered burns to her head, face, neck, arms, back and thighs. After receiving emergency treatment at the Central Highlands General Hospital, the pregnant woman was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment of her injuries.

The case is being investigated and clarified by the police.
