Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will begin his Latin American tour on February 19. His first stop will be Cuba, followed by Venezuela and Brazil.

During his two-day visit to Cuba, Lavrov is scheduled to meet with President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez. Russia and Cuba are expected to discuss the state of bilateral cooperation and the global and regional agenda.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 14 that during the visit, the two sides will focus on discussing aspects to further strengthen the Russia-Cuba strategic partnership on the basis of deeper political dialogue and building relations in the fields of economy and trade, finance and investment, science and technology, culture and humanitarian affairs.
Meanwhile, in Venezuela, the Russian Foreign Minister will meet with President Nicolás Maduro and his host counterpart Yván Gil with the aim of deepening bilateral dialogue.
Mr. Lavrov is scheduled to visit Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on February 21 and 22 to attend the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting.
The Russian Foreign Minister's most recent trip to Latin America took place from April 17-21, 2023. During that time, Mr. Lavrov visited Brazil, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
