One week after the Ministry of Public Security announced the dismantling of a ring producing, trading, and consuming fake milk powder with nearly 600 types of milk, many people are very upset and are looking for ways to return the fake milk products they bought.

Ms. Huyen (Bac Ninh) said that agents and stores distributing fake milk must be responsible for compensation. "When will the agents and stores compensate the people? I myself have bought nearly 100 boxes in the past four years, and currently have 25 boxes left unused. But when I brought them to the agent to ask for a return, I was not allowed because I was waiting for the authorities to collect them," Ms. Huyen said.

Not only sold at agents, in recent days, some hospitals have reported that milk from these companies has been supplied to hospitals. In particular, the 108 Military Central Hospital and Bac Kan General Hospital have announced that they have stopped consulting and selling milk supplied by companies involved in the fake milk production chain.

The hospitals also affirmed that they will accompany and request the supplier to refund the patients when the authorities clarify the incident.

Mr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), said he has asked hospitals nationwide to review nutritional products and milk used in hospitals, identify poor quality products and remove them from the list, and report to the Ministry of Health.

Mr. Duc also shared that the Ministry of Health has provided professional guidance, Circular 24 of 2024 also has professional regulations on nutrition in hospitals, in which cases nutritional supplements are needed, and when nutritional supplement advice is needed for patients.

A week has passed, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said "it is not under management", while the Ministry of Health said "most of it has been handed over to local authorities for management". The locality - the Hoa Binh Food Safety Department - where four companies in the "ecosystem" producing fake milk announced 305 types of fake milk said "it cannot be post-inspected because there are no products in the area".

And to this day, consumers are still waiting for the exact list of milk products sold by these companies because the Food Safety Department has not yet finished its "review". In four years, the company has earned 500 billion VND - that is the money that people spend to buy "nutritious food" for their relatives, the sick and children.

Previously, the Prime Minister sent a telegram requesting the Ministry of Public Security to speed up the investigation and soon draw conclusions on the case of producing and trading fake milk to inform consumers and bring violators to trial.
