The event "Discovering American Agriculture ", co-organized by the Office of Foreign Agricultural Affairs of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, officially opened at noon on July 19.

Acting Consul General of the United States Carolee A. Williamson expressed her joy at welcoming the distinguished guests. Ms. Williamson shared her special love for Vietnamese cuisine and how it connects people, communities and families.
Ms. Carolee A. Williamson, Acting US Consul General, emphasized that this event is part of a series of activities celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between the US and Vietnam, highlighting the strong connection between the food, beverage and agricultural industries of the two countries.
She encouraged visitors to explore, interact and enjoy the festival, revealing two upcoming events not to be missed: the Friendship Festival and Restaurant Week in Ho Chi Minh City in September.

"Discovering American Agriculture" brings together 30 units including 15 US industry associations and 15 Vietnamese enterprises.
The festival showcases a wide range of products from chicken, beef, cheese, potatoes, eggs, ginseng, to canned goods imported from the US, along with fashion brands made from American cotton and pet products.

In particular, Ho Chi Minh City residents have the opportunity to enjoy unlimited free food from July 19 to 20, from 10am to 9pm.
Mr. Francis Lee, Chief Representative of the Washington Apple Association (USA) in Vietnam, said that the "Discovering American Agriculture" festival is an opportunity for Vietnamese consumers to directly access high-quality agricultural products.
"Today, we bring a variety of delicious fresh fruits such as California nectarines, American blueberries, cherries and Washington apples. Through the associations, we want to exploit the market, helping Vietnamese consumers access high-quality products," Mr. Lee shared.

Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thao from the California Dairy Association booth excitedly introduced cheese products made from 100% fresh cow's milk from the state of California. "Our featured product is Mozzarella cheese, a very popular cheese in pizza lines, with its characteristic fat and stringy ability that makes the pizza delicious," said Ms. Thao.
Festival visitors will enjoy free cheeses from California Milk on hot pizza.
Meanwhile, chef Le Xuan Tam from the US Poultry and Egg Export Association brought unique dishes made from US chicken. "This is a festival to exchange and introduce products. My booth introduces US chicken, with quite special dishes so that people can feel the quality of US chicken" - chef Tam shared. Chef Tam's dish "chicken meatballs stuffed with cheese and truffle sauce" promises to satisfy all diners, not only because of its attractive flavor but also because of its high nutritional value, providing enough energy for a light meal.
