After the historic flood, some places in Tuyen Quang City still have no electricity or water. People have to scoop up buckets of river water to clean their houses.
On the afternoon of September 11, floodwaters had almost receded from Tuyen Quang City, revealing houses and roads covered in mud and trash. People begin cleaning up their homes after the first flood in nearly 20 years. In almost all flooded areas, houses, buildings and roads were covered with mud. After the flood receded, most areas in Tuyen Quang City had no electricity or water. To deal with the mud, people were forced to go to the area near the Lo River to scoop up buckets of water to clean their houses. Mr. Nguyen Van Viet (Minh Xuan ward) said: "Electricity and water are not available immediately after the flood while the house is full of mud, so I have to go near the river, areas with water to carry buckets to temporarily clean the house. Wait for clean water and then do the general cleaning." Although the river water is not clean, some people still have to use it temporarily when the flood has just receded. Mud and garbage filled the streets and roads. In some areas in Tuyen Quang city, flood water has not yet receded, people and forces have actively cleaned up. People's lives have begun to return to normal. The electricity industry has inspected and reviewed the entire power system in the city before restoring power to people's daily lives. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Truong - Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang City Electricity said that reviewing and checking the system before turning on the power is very important to ensure safety. People also need to pay attention to carefully checking electrical equipment in the house in the high flood area before turning on the power.
